Even though communities are pulling together in various ways to work through the current recession, there are negative aspects. One being domestic violence, along with other crimes such as theft. These are on the rise simply because lack of income causes stress. Stress causes some people to take out their frustrations on people close to them, children, spouses, significant others and even parents. Robbery, armed and otherwise, is more prevalent at this time as well. People are becoming desperate and see no other way to get ahead, other than to take what they need. This is evidenced by the number of attempted and successful bank robberies that have been shown on the news lately.
